First Step for Becoming a Virtual Assistant

You’ve arrived at this page because you are interested in becoming a Virtual Assistant.

Before we get into details, there are two commitments we would like to make.

We will never ask you to:

  • Spam your friends’ social media accounts with promotional messages;
  • Harass your acquaintances over the phone, to persuade them into buying our products or services;
  • Click banners;
  • Take surveys;
  • Do anything inappropriate or illegal;
  • Pay any commissions or buy any software or kit to help you do your job.

We will always:

  • Provide the training and guidance you need to obtain the best results;
  • Be there to answer any questions and solve any work-related problems you may have;
  • Pay you on time and as agreed;
  • Evaluate your performances fairly and provide feedback;
  • Help you grow professionally, offering you learning and promotion opportunities;
  • Allow you to work for as many hours as you wish and to organize your time as you see fit.

First things first, we’d have to determine how good your English is. The most efficient way to find out your English proficiency would be for you to send us an audio recording of you narrating in English.

Please follow the steps below EXACTLY the way they are described. Failure to do so will result in the automatic rejection of your application.

  1. Open your English resume.
  2. Open a sound recording device on your computer. All Windows computers come with a tool called Sound Recorder. We’d assume the same about Macs, but we only use Windows computers.
  3. Record yourself describing freely, narrating not reading, your resume/career for about 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Save the file as “Your Name – English reading test”. Please replace “Your Name” with your real name. The file type should be either .mp3, or .wma, or .wav.
  5. Save your resume as “Your Name – resume”. Please replace “Your Name” with your real name. The file type should be either .doc or .pdf.
  6. Open your email client.
  7. Attach both files to a new email with the subject line “Your Name – for the Virtual Assistant Position”. Please replace “Your Name” with your real name.
  8. Send the email with those two attachments, your resume and the audio recording, to dan@freelancewriters.me. There is no need to write anything cover letter like in the body of the email.

The instructions above are extremely clear. Please do not email Dan with any questions at this time.

Once we receive the email with your audio recording AND the resume, we’ll be getting back to you shortly.

Thank you, and we’re looking forward to working with you.
